-Vernon and Petunia gave their son such a strange, unusual name was because
they did not like "common" names. Petunia says so on page 7. "Harry. nasty, common name, if you ask me."
-On page 25, Uncle Vernon is discussing motercycles and his extreme dislike
for them when Harry says that he had "a dream about a motercycle. It was flying." This made Uncle Vernon extremely angry,
which is an early sign that he wants to keep Harry from learning anything about the wizarding world. It probably also refers
to the moterbike Hagrid was flying right before Harry was left on the Dursley's doorstep.
-On page 28, Harry is at the zoo for Dudley's birthday when he begins talking
to the snake in the reptile exhibit. This is the first sign that Harry is a Parseltounge.
-On page 29, Harry begins reminiscing about the car crash that Uncle
Vernon and Aunt Petunia said killed his parents. Of course, he can't remember this, since it never happened
(and he was only a year old at the time). He can, however, remember "a blinding flash of green light and a burning pain
on his forehead." The pain on his forehead was, of course, where Voldemort had tried to kill Harry, however, the flash
of green light was referring to the Avada Kedavra curse that killed Lily and James.
-On page 39, Harry has just gotten Dudley's second bedroom. It also
mentions that "the repaired alarm clock rang at six o'clock the next morning." This repaired alarm clock is still
being used, five years later, to wake Harry up at eleven o'clock at night to await the arrival of Dumbledore.
-Lily and James were Head Boy and Head Girl when they were at
Hogwarts.
