Oliver Wood

Oliver Wood is Keeper and Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team for four years (the year before PS, PS, COS, and POA). He is known for caring a lot about winning the Quidditch Cup, which the team finally accomplishes in POA. He often forces the players to practice in the worst of storms, snow, and other terrible weather, and gives long, emotional pep-talks prior to each game in the locker room. Wood is a burly Gryffindor (of course) four years ahead of Harry.

Pep Talks of Oliver Wood

Philosopher's Stone:
Game 1 "Okay, men. And women. This is it." Fred and George continuing, since they know the speech by heart: "The big one. The one we've all been waiting for." Wood picking up: "Shut up, you two. This is the best team Gryffindor's had in years. We're going to win. I know it. Right. it's time. Good luck, all of you."
Summary in a sentence: This is the game that Gryffindor's going to win, especially since we have Harry on the team.
GRYFFINDOR WINS
Game 2 Wood makes one, although Harry barely hears a word of it, due to the fact that he is so worried about Snape referreing.
Game 3 Canceled, because of Harry's injuries while rescuing the Stone

Chamber of Secrets:
Game 1 "Slytherin has better brooms than us. No point denying it. But we've got better people on our brooms. We've trained harder than they have, we've been flying in all weathers, and we're going to make them rue the day they let that little bit of slime, Malfoy, buy his way onto their team. It'll be down to you, Harry, to show them that a Seeker has to have something more than a rich father. Get that Snitch before Malfoy or die trying, Harry, because we've got to win today, we've got to."
Summary in a sentence: Slytherin may have better brooms, but we have better people.
GRYFFINDOR WINS
Game 2 Cancelled because Hermione and Penelope Clearwater were attacked.
Game 3 Cancelled due to the incident in the Chamber
