Remus J. Lupin is the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts
during Harry's third year, best friends with James Potter and Sirius Black, a dedicated member of the Order, and a werewolf.
Thin and unkempt in appearance, he is tired almost to the point of being unhealthy. He has light brown flecked with gray,
despite his rather young age, and his face is weary-looking and pale. Lupin wears very shabby, patched wizard's robes and
carries his possessions in a small, battered suitcase stamped with the words Professor R.J. Lupin in one corner in
peeling letters and closed with a long coil of neatly knotted string.
