Augusta Longbottom
Augusta Longbottom is Neville's strict, uptight grandmother ("gran," as
he calls her). She is extremely formidable and is always trying to get Neville to do better in school. Her son, Frank Longbottom,
is Neville's father, and her daughter-in-law, Alice Longbottom, is Neville's mother. She is a strong supporter of Dumbledore,
even cancelling her subscription to the Daily Prophet in OOTP when it begins reporting untrue stories sbout
him. Because she failed her Charms OWL, Mrs. Longbottom does not want Neville to continue on with it in his sixth year. She
always wears a tall, moth-eaten hat with a stuffed vulture perched on the top, a long, lacy green dress, a fox-fur
scarf, and a great crimson handbag.
