GHOULS, CHAMELEON
Chameleon Ghouls are creatures (ghouls, of course) which have the ability
to disguise themselves to look like other things (e.g. suits of armor). In COS, Hermione believes that the monster hidden
in the Chamber was Chameleon Ghoul, owing to the fact that it would explain how it was maneuvering around the school
undetected.
GNOMES
The gnome lives in gnomeholes, which they
dig in gardens. Gnomes are quite small, with bald heads which are knobby and big. They are also described as "leathery looking,"
and their heads "exactly like a potato." They have horny little feet and can be further researched in Gilderoy Lockhart's
Guide to Household Pests by Gilderoy Lockhart. Gnomes can be extracted from a garden (see de-gnoming) by plucking them
from inside of their gnomeholes, swinging them around by their ankles until they are too dizzy to think straight, and
flinging them out of the garden.
