Chapter Fourteen
Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback
Summary:
Hermione becomes crazed about studying with exams ten weeks away, as are
the teachers with homework. They tell Hagrid all they know about Flamel, the Stone, and the third floor-corridor, and have
a few of their questions answered as well. Hagrid also wins a dragon egg at the Hogs Head down in Hogsmeade, and hatches it.
Unfortunately, "Norbert" soon becomes too out-of-control for even Hagrid to handle, so he grudgingly agrees to hand him over
to Ron's brother Charlie, who is studying dragons in Romania. Hermione and Harry plan to send Norbert off with a bunch of
Charlie's friends at midnight that Saturday; however, Malfoy gets wind of the plan and tries to catch them. Unfortunately
for HIM ONLY, he is caught by Professor McGonagall, as are Hermione and Harry after they
forget the Invisibility Cloak at the top of the tower after safely delivering the dragon from Hogwarts. Neville tries to stop
them from going up in the first place and is caught too.... Ooh, somebody's being naughty....
