CAT, CROOKSHANKS THE
Crookshanks is Hermione's pet cat. Although he makes a bad first impression
on Harry and Ron, he is actually exceptionally intelligent and sharp-witted, able to help Sirius capture Peter Pettigrew.
Crookshanks is rather ill-tempered, although he ensues violence upon others only in Prisoner of Azkaban, in various attempts
to bring Scabbers (a.k.a. Peter Pettigrew) to Sirius. he has fluffy ginger fur, a grumpy and squashed-looking face, a thick
bottlebrush tail, and bandy legs.
CENTAUR, BANE THE
Bane is a cantaur with black hair and a black body. He appears wild, and
strongly dislikes Firenze for allowing Harry to ride on his back. He believes (very forcefully) that centaurs are not "common
mules" and should be treated as people, not horses or wild beasts.
CENTAUR, FIRENZE THE
Firenze is a centaur younger than either Ronan or Bane. He has white-blonde
hair and a palomino body. Harry describes his eyes as "astonishingly blue... like pale sapphires." Unlike Bane and Ronan,
Firenze is willing to set himself "against the heavens" and help a human, even if it means going against what he believes
in (doing something to prevent the predictions of the stars from coming true). In the OOTP, Firenze is banished from the Forest
and begins sharing divination lessons with Professor Trelawny.
CENTAUR, RONAN THE
Roman is a cantaur with red hair and beard, long, reddish tail, a chesnut
body, and a gloomy voice. He lives in the Forbidden Forest with the other centaurs, and is friends with Hagrid.
